New Dawn Safe Haven Inc. is a not-for-profit animal sanctuary dedicated to providing rescue, rehabilitation, and lifelong care for vulnerable animals, with a special focus on Australia's brumbies and horses.

​

We provide refuge for brumbies rescued through natural resource management programs, horses removed from unsafe situations, orphaned foals, and other animals requiring protection, care, and a safe place to call home.

​

We understand that circumstances can change. Financial hardship, illness, changing life situations, and unforeseen events can leave animals vulnerable and in need of support. Too often, horses and other animals find themselves facing uncertain futures through no fault of their own.

At New Dawn, we believe every animal deserves compassion, dignity, and the opportunity to live safely.

 

Our Mission

Our mission is to improve the welfare of rescued animals by providing sanctuary, rehabilitation, responsible care, and long-term protection for animals that have experienced neglect, displacement, abandonment, or uncertain futures.

While our work has a strong focus on the rescue and welfare of Australian brumbies, our commitment extends to any animal requiring safety, care, and a second chance.

 

A Safe Landing for Brumbies

Brumbies remain at the heart of New Dawn Safe Haven.

​

Many of the horses in our care have been removed from the wild through management programs, rescued from auctions, surrendered due to changing circumstances, or brought into care when there were limited alternatives available.

​

Our committee is passionate about ensuring these horses have access to lifelong care, appropriate handling, rehabilitation, and secure sanctuary environments where they can thrive.

Our focus is not simply on where a horse has come from, but on what we can do to improve its future.

"What can we do now to make this animal's life better?"

This question guides every decision we make.
